The Feline Immunodeficiency / Feline Leukaemia Virus Combo Rapid Test Kit from Pet Pharma is a rapid screening test for the qualitative detection of feline immunodeficiency virus antibodies and feline leukaemia virus antigen in cats. The test is designed to screen for FIV and FeLV using a feline whole blood, serum or plasma sample. You can read the result within 10-30 minutes, giving you quick clarity when FIV or FeLV infection is suspected.
Feline immunodeficiency virus, also known as FIV, is a viral infection that affects the immune system of cats. Infected cats may not always show clear symptoms immediately, but over time they can become more vulnerable to other infections and health problems. Feline leukaemia virus, also known as FeLV, can also weaken the immune system and may cause serious health issues, including blood disorders and an increased risk of certain cancers.
Both viruses are important to detect as early as possible, especially in cats with unknown health status, cats that have been exposed to other cats, newly adopted cats, outdoor cats or cats showing signs of illness.
The test screens for FIV antibodies and FeLV antigen in a small feline whole blood, serum or plasma sample. Apply the sample and the assay buffer according to the instructions for use, then read the result after 10-30 minutes. No additional laboratory equipment is required, which makes the test practical for quick screening at home, on location or in a veterinary setting.
Use the test when FIV or FeLV infection is suspected, for example in cats with reduced appetite, fever, weight loss, recurring infections, swollen lymph nodes, mouth inflammation, lethargy or a generally weakened condition. Testing can also be useful for newly adopted cats, cats with an unknown medical history, cats that have had contact with infected or possibly infected cats, or cats living in multi-cat environments.
If the result is positive, unclear or if symptoms are severe or persistent, veterinary follow-up is strongly recommended. A rapid test is a useful screening tool, but it does not replace a full veterinary diagnosis.
The Feline Immunodeficiency / Feline Leukaemia Virus Combo Rapid Test Kit from Pet Pharma offers a practical and accessible way to screen cats for two important feline viral infections. With one combined test, you can quickly check for FIV antibodies and FeLV antigen, helping you decide whether further veterinary follow-up is needed.
